What’s the deal with the “wallet” and the balance I see under my account?

The wallet and balance you see in your Crates account represents Crates Tokens—reputation points earned through the Gems feature, which is currently available as a Beta for Supporters.

With this feature, you can earn Crates Tokens by recommending Gems to other community members. These tokens reflect your reputation within the community.

For transparency and interoperability, Crates stores related data on the Blockchain and uses Smart Contracts to allow open source access to the rules and data of the feature.
