Dub Descendants
"I am fascinated by how dub music and culture has shaped electronic music as we know it. From the Jamaican soundsystem culture to the UK and now the rest of the world, dub can be found in so many aspects of music. Genres like dub-techno, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Jungle are known as more direct descendants of dub but as time goes on, genres and styles tend to blend with each other even more. We are also currently living through a “Dubstep Revival” as people say and it’s true, dubstep has taken on a whole new life. I personally love the many forms and layers dub can take in different genres, BPMs and atmospheres. This playlist is my own take on the many forms dub is inspiring modern electronic music and acts as a root for innovation and versatility."
