Her Crates playlist is called Yugo. A personal archive drawn from Yugoslavia - the country she was born in, and the one that no longer exists. Progressive, liberal, culturally alive, and undone by nationalism and war. For her generation, that loss was formative. For the rest of us, this playlist is a window into something that feels increasingly like a 20th century Atlantis.
This one is a memory of an entire world.

TIJANA T YUGO PLAYLIST
"Yugoslavia is the country I was born in and where I've spent formative years of my life. That entity does not exist anymore, it was destroyed by raging nationalism and subsequent wars. For my generation this was obviously highly traumatic. Maybe this is why I'm obsessed with the nostalgia over that country. It now seems like a 20th century Atlantis. With all it's flaws, in hindisght, Yugoslavian society was an incredibly progressive one. Art, culture and music were important parts of society, reflecting a specific context of it's communist structure. It was liberal. The borders were open. Mindset was free. This playlist is a snapshot of some of my favourite Yugo releases."
